Light of wavelength 550 nm in vacuum passes through a piece of crown glass of refractive index of 1.52. Find the velocity and frequency of light in crown glass.

    V = c/1.52 = 1.99*10^8 m/s

    frequency = V/(wavelength)
    = 1.99*10^8/550*10^-9
    = 3.61*10^14 Hz
