I forget, in the heading of a friendly letter, do you write your address or to whom you are writing's address?

No addresses at the top of friendly letters. Just the date and salutation.

For some reason, my teacher gave us an outline of how we should have it and it does have a heading. Also, when I was looking on Google, it had a heading in the friendly letter.

Then why did you ask here?

I wasn't sure whether in the heading we wrote the address of the sender or who was being sent the letter. I wasn't provided with that information.

Write the address of the sender.

Thank you Ms. Sue! :)

In the heading of a friendly letter, you typically write your own address at the top right corner of the page. The recipient's address is usually not included in the heading. Let me explain how to format the heading of a friendly letter step by step:

1. Start by writing your own address in the top right corner of the page. Include your street address on the first line, followed by the city, state, and zip code on subsequent lines. You can also include your email address and phone number below your physical address, but this is optional.

2. Skip a line and then write the date underneath your address. It is customary to write out the full date, including the month, day, and year. For example, "May 25, 2022."

3. Skip another line and then address the recipient of your letter. Typically, you would begin with "Dear" followed by the person's name. For example, "Dear John," or "Dear Sarah,"

So, to answer your question directly, in the heading of a friendly letter, you should write your own address, not the recipient's address.
