Solve. Check for extraneous solutions.
1) (/3x+7) = x1
2) (3/2x)3=9
Note: (/3x+7) is the square root of 3x plus 7 and (3/2x)3=9 is 3 times the square root of 2x 3 equals 9.

Thank you for clarifying your unconventional notation.
1) sqrt(3x +7) = x1
3x + 7 = x^2 2x + 1
x^2 5x 6 = 0
(x6)(x+1) = 0
x = 6 or 1
2. 3*sqrt(2x3) = 9
sqrt(2x 3) = 3
2x 3 = 9
x = 6
