my sister Shreya be sick so i posting her biology questions.

one question ask hw did creationists explain fossils.

she write this be about noah's flood but what be noah's flood? i look up on internet for her and there be too much confusing words. i only be able to make out when it hit species be covered with sediment and then fossils happen. but what be more descriptive answer?

Noah's flood was the story in the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament. It tells how God got mad because so many people were evil and sinful. He told Noah to build an ark (boat) and gather a male and female from each species of animal. Then God sent a flood that lasted 40 days and 40 nights. According to the story, then these few people and the animals that survived started repopulating the earth.

I think Creationists don't believe that fossils were alive before the flood.

Fossils are the remains of ancient plants and animals that were imbedded in rock.

Creationists do not believe in radioactive carbon dating, so they won't agree that there could be fossils older than Adam and Eve

thank you very much ms. sue and drwls :)

You're very welcome, Mohammad.

Noah's Flood, also known as the Great Flood, is a biblical story found in the book of Genesis. According to the story, God saw that human beings had become wicked, and as a result, He decided to wipe out all living creatures on earth with a flood. However, God instructed Noah, a righteous man, to build an Ark and to take his family and pairs of animals on board to survive the flood.

In the context of creationism, believers interpret the occurrence of fossils as evidence of Noah's Flood. Creationism is the belief system that holds that the Earth and all living organisms were created by a divine entity, typically according to a religious scripture. Creationists explain fossils as the remains of organisms that were buried rapidly during Noah's Flood, resulting in their preservation over time.

The floodwaters in the story of Noah's Flood covered the entire Earth and submerged everything in their path. Creationists argue that during this catastrophic event, sediments settled rapidly, effectively burying and preserving the remains of plants and animals, which eventually turned into fossils. They suggest that the fossils we find today are the result of this rapid burial.

While this explanation is based on religious beliefs rather than scientific evidence, it is important to note that it represents a specific perspective within the broader subject of biology and geology. The majority of the scientific community, however, supports the theory of evolution and explains fossil formation through natural processes such as sedimentation, mineralization, and gradual accumulation over millions of years.

It's worth emphasizing that scientific explanations are based on rigorous observation, experiment, and analysis, while religious explanations like creationism are based on faith and interpretation of sacred texts. It's important to consider multiple perspectives and critically evaluate the evidence when studying scientific topics.
