Homework Help: social studies

I am writing a report on James Madison. In the report, I must have a paragraph talking about the Peaceful Transition to Power (in the election of 1808) and also about the Foreign Policy (waging the war of 1812). I'm struggling to find information about these topics. Are there any sites you recommend that would help me? Thank you.

My teacher recommended those links to us. However, I can't find anything in them that have to do with the transition of power from Thomas Jefferson to James Madison.
