You are installing a new deck around your pool. The pool is rectangular with the dimensions 8m by 4m. The deck will surround the pool and will have a width by 2m.

What is the area of the deck?

I know that A=LxW and that the Area of the pool would be 32m(squared). But, how do I go about only finding the area of the deck?

**Amanda Mosley**, Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:56pmYou have to find the area of the pool first then you will have to multiply the width of the deck by the area of the pool which should give you the answer good luck
