**Reiny**, Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 7:04pmuse substitution, sub the 2nd into the 1st

x+y = 20

(y-4) + y = 20

2y = 24

y = 12

back into x = y-4

x = 12-4 = 8

x = 8, y = 12
