1/2y=x-2

This is systems of Equations

please work out the problem and explain it

**Reiny**, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 9:55pmI would multiply the 2nd by 2 to get

y = 2x - 4

now we can equate y = y

2x-4 = (1/4)x - 1

times 4

8x - 16 = x - 4

7x = 12

x = 12/7

then y = 24/7 - 4 = -4/7

x = 12/7, y = -4/7
