1/2 times 6x equals 3x
1/2 times -4 equals -2 so after distributing the 1/2 we are left with
3x-2=4x-9
+2 +2
3x+0=4x-7
3x=4x-7
-4x=-4x
-1x=-7
and then -7 divided by -1 = 7
so x=7
