**Steve**, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 6:21pmI'll do one by completing the square. Use the same method for the others. Come on back if you run into trouble.

x^2 + 16x = 36

x^2 + 16x + 64 = 36+64

(x+8)^2 = 100

x+8 = ±10

x = -8 ± 10

x = -18,2
