ROMEO AND JULIET

No capital letters in all the correct places??

Please use standard English, including punctuation and capitalization, so we can understand what you're writing about.

Also ... please note that no one here will do your work for you. However, we will be happy to read over what YOU THINK and make suggestions and/or corrections.

Read here to understand the play better:

At the great hall of the Capulets Romeo sees Juliet from across the room, and asks a servingman who she is. The servingman does not know. Romeo is transfixed; Rosaline vanishes from his mind and he declares that he has never been in love until this moment. Moving through the crowd Romeo approaches Juliet and touches her hand. In a dialogue laced with religious metaphors that figure Juliet as a saint and Romeo as a pilgrim who wishes to erase his sin, he tries to convince her to kiss him, since it is only through her kiss that he might be absolved. Juliet agrees to remain still as Romeo kisses her. Thus, in the terms of their conversation, she takes his sin from him. Juliet then makes the logical leap that if she has taken Romeo’s sin from him, his sin must now reside in her lips, and so they must kiss again.

WOULD THIS BE IT.......

If you use the link I sent, read the right hand column (modern English) and compare it to the left column (Shakespeare's English) when you need to. Once you read it in modern English, it'll be a lot clearer for you.

After you've read the section you need for this, please list your specific questions separately.

These are your directions:

1. analyse the reason for this (her first words being a sonnet)

2. analyse the language and the imagery (in the sonnet)

3. what do we learn about her feeling?

Which 8 lines make up the sonnet?

Sorry -- 14 lines, not 8.

The sonnet is arranged like this in Act I, scene 5:

Romeo - 4 lines
Juliet - 4 lines
Romeo - 1 line
Juliet - 1 line
Romeo - 2 lines
Juliet - 1 line
Romeo - 1 line

Do you see it all? (lines 93-105)

Try writing it out separately, as if it were just one poem, without the characters' names. You need to see it and read it and analyze it as a 14-line poem (sonnet).

Love at first sight: The ball

Romeo sees her first. Their first words are a shared sonnet: analyse the reason for this.
Analyse the language and the imagery.
What do we learn about her feeling's?

Yes, those are your directions.

Follow my suggestions in my last post. You need to be able to analyze this sonnet.

Thank very much that's a great help, would this be the reason why their is sonnetWhen Romeo and Juliet meet they speak just fourteen lines before their first kiss. These fourteen lines make up a shared sonnet, with a rhyme scheme. A sonnet is a perfect, idealized poetic form often used to write about love.

Use the last sentence. The rest is just restating what's already been said in your instructions.

Then analyze the poem. Do you know how to analyze a poem?
