Can someone please explain to be the concept of - Rate of exchange is proportional to a cells surface area and ... the amount of exchange material is proportional to a cell's volume. (the topic we are learning is called "Animal form and function")

if cell surface is increases means the number of protein receptors and ion channels will increase as a result it cause a great impact on absorption of ions and prnteins.if the volume of cell increases means it require more nutrients.
