1) Lycée ... is a general sencondary high school with 920 pupils, which is situated in south Vendée, the least economically prosperous of the department. It includes nursing, social and cinematographic departments, which leads to 75% of the girls and 220 boarding pupils. 48% of the pupils come from disadvantaged backgrounds, which is a considerably higher percentage than that of the region in general. The pupils profit from few international contacts and cultural experiences. The parents take little interest in their children`s education, and they are little ambitious on their account.

2)......-Gymnasium is a general secondary school with 650 pupils and 60 teachers. The curriculum focuses on science and languages. The school located about 40 km from Stuttgart in a rural area which offers many outdoor leisure activities for young people but little else. Due to a lower access of the parents to higer education, the number of pupils who aimes for higher education is inferior to this of bigger cities in the area.
