Keep going by reading the Declaration of Independence carefully and thoughtfully.

When reading The Declaration of Independence, the phrase that resonated with me most was that “all men are created equal and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, which are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” It’s a nice sentiment that sounds promising, but how realistic is it actually?

I assume in the rest of your essay that you're going to cite ways that that sentiment is not realistic.
Yeh i was thinking, about writing about how the government is impartial to legalization of marriage or certain drugs, and if all men are equal then why are some not allowed to do some things they want to, why wont the government let them?
Just for fun sometimes I pick out one of the gripes about King George that Jefferson expressed and see how we are doing.
For example:
"He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance. "
Can you think of any relatively new federal agencies that might be perceived to be hiring more and more officers to irritate Americans and cost them money?
