At 5 o'clock in the morning, the temperature at the top of the race course was -13o. By 10:00 A.M., it was +12o. How much had the temperature risen? Answer: 25o

The temperature rose from -12o to +23o by noon. How much did the temperature change? Answer: 11o

In the afternoon, the temperature fell rapidly from +23o to -1o. How much change is this? Answer: 24o

By 7:00 P.M., the temperature was -9o. How much had the temperature changed from 10:00 A.M.? Answer: 34o

It continued to get colder. By midnight, the temperature was 35o colder than it had been at noon. What was the midnight temperature?
Answer: -24o

If the temperature rose 120 between midnight and 6:00 A.M. the next morning, what was the temperature at 6:00 A.M.? Answer: -12o
