I have to replace the words "the bees'" with the correct possessive prounoun. In the sentence: Bees make honey for the bees' food. Would the correct possessive pronoun be "their" food since bees is possive?

However in the sentence...A bee can always fly back to a bee's hive...would a bee's hive be replaced with its since it is singular?

Thanks

Yes! Both are right! :-)

Yes, you're correct! In the sentence "Bees make honey for the bees' food," the correct possessive pronoun to replace "the bees'" would be "their." This is because "the bees'" is indicating that the food belongs to multiple bees. Therefore, we use the plural possessive pronoun "their" to show ownership.

In the second sentence, "A bee can always fly back to a bee's hive," you're also correct. Since "a bee's hive" is referring to the hive belonging to a single bee, the correct possessive pronoun to replace it would be "its." The singular possessive pronoun "its" shows that the hive belongs to the bee.

Great job on identifying the appropriate possessive pronouns for both sentences! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
