Mona uses 1 1/2 cups less whole wheat flour than white flour. She uses a total of 4 1/2 cups of flour. How much of each type flour does she use?

Let x = cups white, then x - 1.5 = cups wheat.

x + (x-1.5) = 4.5

Solve for x, then x-1.5.
