Final Project

Given all of the information that you have learned about health care education, this assignment challenges you to convey that information to other health care professionals so that they may serve as educators as well.
Your challenge is to design a guide for your fellow colleagues that demonstrates your knowledge of the teaching strategies and methodologies utilized in health care education. Choose a specific population as your focus, and design to outreach to that population. Contents of the workbook should include a minimum of the following, but please feel free to use your creativity in the design of the workbook.

Part I: Introduction to Health Education

Provide an overview of the origins of health education and describe the trends in health education
Discuss the role of health professionals as educators
Describe the ethical principles of health education
Part II: Principles of Learning

Discuss the barriers to teaching and the obstacles to learning for this population
Discuss the learning styles of the population
Describe the theories and common principles of learning
Part III: Theories and Models of Health Behavior

Describe the theories of health behavior and their impact on teaching and learning for this group
Explain how health educators take theoretical principles and put them into practice
Part IV: Teaching Strategies

Describe the methodologies and instructional materials used in educating this group
Discuss the varying teaching strategies used for your group, and identify those that work best
Part V: Recommendations

Provide recommendations for professionals in health education. Which strategies are most effective for your audience? Which learners respond best to specific materials and/or education interventions?
What overall recommendations do you have for future health professionals as educators? What trends do you foresee in health education, and how do you think health professionals can enhance the education for your chosen population?
Part IV: Evaluation

Which evaluation method to you plan to use?
The summative assignment should build upon the concepts learned in weeks one through five, and should be 8-10 pages in length. Students must use at least 8 sources to support their analysis.

Writing the Final Paper

Must be eight- to ten- double-spaced pages in length and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide.
Must include a cover page that includes:
Title of Paper
Student’s name
Course name and number
Instructor’s name
Date submitted
Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement.
Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
Must conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.
Must use at least eight resources, including a minimum of three from ProQuest.
Must use APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide to document all sources.
Must include, on the final page, a Reference Page that is completed according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide.

3. Start by creating an outline for your workbook. Divide it into sections based on the content requirements provided in the assignment description.

9. In Part VI, explain the evaluation method you plan to use to assess the effectiveness of your teaching strategies.

10. Write your final paper, ensuring it is 8-10 double-spaced pages long and formatted according to APA style guidelines. Include a cover page with the title of the paper, your name, course name and number, instructor's name, and date submitted. Start with an introductory paragraph that includes a clear thesis statement. Use critical thought to thoroughly address the topic of the paper. Conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.

11. Support your analysis with at least 8 sources, including a minimum of 3 from ProQuest. Use proper APA style to cite and reference all sources used. Include a reference page on the final page of your paper, following APA style guidelines.

12. Before submitting your final paper, carefully review the Grading Rubric provided by your instructor to ensure your assignment meets all the criteria for evaluation.
