I'm finding it difficult to check these sentences. Could you please help me? Thank you.

1)The senses involved are the hearing, because the protagonist can feel the heartbeating of the old man and the sight, because when he sees the vulture eye the protagonist becomes nervous.
2)Correction: The senses involved the hearing because the protagonist seems to hear the heartbeat of the old man and the sight, because when he sees the old man’s vulture eye the protagonist becomes nervous.
3)Shelley’s Frankenstein presents features of the Gothic novel, like the presence of grotesque elements.
4)Another characteristic of the gothic novel is the presence of desolate places/ of a desolate environment. In fact (or actually?) the story begins and ends in the Arctic Ice.
