L - S x

5. 84 in = 84 ft.

THINK: 12 in = 1 ft

S - L /

6. 9 ft = 108 in

THINK: 1 ft = 12 in

L - S x

7. 5 mi = 8750 yd

THINK: 1 mi = 1, 750

L - S x

8. 52,800 ft. = 52,800 mi

**Lauren**, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 9:11pmi mean 1 mi - 1, 760

are these all correct???

- Math: Homework Check! -
**Ms. Sue**, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 9:22pmAll are correct except for 9.

**Lauren**, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 9:26pmOK.

To change from smaller units to larger units, DIVIDE.

15 ft = 5 yd

THINK: 1 ft = 12 in

4 x 12 = 48

4 ft = 48 in

That was an example.

I divide 144 by 12 which is 2.

Lauren -- you initially missed 4 of 9 problems. Those were mostly careless errors. That is not acceptable for an A student!!
