1) He remarks that of all his daughters, Lizzy is his favourite because she is more clever and lively than the others.
Mrs Bennet is offended by his critical remark towards her daughters and complains that he has no respect for her poor nerves.
2) Mr. Bennet replies ironically by saying that he has known them for twenty years.
3) In the last paragraph there is again the voice of the omniscient narrator. Jane Austen describes Mr. and Mrs. Bennet and their relative incompatibility in a series of balanced sentences.
