Well, you could look Heron's formula, which works for any triangle, but you might have less work if you recognize that this is just a 3-4-5 right triangle scaled by a factor of 12.

So, the area is just 1/2 * 36 * 48 = 864

which is just the scaled version of 3-4-5:

12^2 * 1/2 * 3*4 = 864
