what effect tv have on many individuals buying habits in post-war period? what effect it have today?

it encourage people to buy more products. youngsters demanded sweetned cereals, barbie dolls, davy crocket hats, and many other advertised goods. effect it have today i think a big effect advertisements such that people want to buy more things i think.

i also want to ask what it means by consumer society?
