Find the vertex, y intercept and x intercept

**Lauren**, Monday, December 5, 2011 at 12:22amWell, the y intercept is the point at which the value of x=0, so substitute x=0 into your equation to find that.

The x intercept is the point at which the value of y=0, so substitute y=0 into your equation.

You can find the vertex by converting the equation to vertex form. You can do this by completing the square. There is a helpful PurpleMath page to help you do this if you are unsure, just google "completing the square" and it should be the first option :)
