Analyze the sentence to select the adverb clause, subordinating conjunction, and the word(s) modified in the appropriate boxes below...

1)When you obey your parents, you please the Lord.

Subordinating conjunction: When
Word modified: ? im not sure? would it be Lord? or.. please?

2)Although he spends much time playing tennis, he manages to get his studying done.
Adverb clause: Although he spends much time playing tennis
Subordinating conjunction: Although
Word modified: I always get stuck here :/ I think it would be.. manages? help please! & also, how can u tell which is the word that's modified? Thank you!!

1. Adverbs and adverb clauses primarily modify (describe) verbs. In this case, the clause is telling WHEN the verb occurs. What's the verb?
