what is the solubility of CuS in water at 25 C and 1 bar ? for equilibrium : CuS + H2O = CuSO4 + H2O

  • chemistry -

    Is all of this part of the problem. Frankly, I never heard of the equilibrium of CuS + H2O ==> CuSO4. If you want to know the solubility, use Ksp.
    CuS ==> Cu^2+ + S^2-
    S.......S......S...where S = solubility.

    Ksp = (Cu^2+)(S^2-)
    Substitute Ksp and from the chart above. Solve for S which is solubility CuS in moles/L.
