Sylvia has a jewelry collection of bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. She has 16 bracelets. The number of earrings is 2 times the number of necklaces. She has 43 pieces of jewelry in all. How many of each piece of jewelry does she have?

Let x = the number of necklaces.
16 + 2x + x = 43
16 + 3x = 43
3x = 43  16
3x = 27
x = 27/3
x = ?
