Which segment of its operations got Enron into difficulties?

-I am unable to pin-point what action first got Enron into trouble? Was it that they were borrowing money that they did not have?

Enron was hiding their debt with off-the-books partnerships. Enron was involved in partnerships to help hide their debt from the public. This led to Enron filing bankruptcy.
