Is this okay for a introduction essay on a thesis statement................

Mary Cassatt was an American painter and printmaker. Known to this day as a “painter of mothers and children” She did paintings of Impressionism to record visual reality. Cassatt strokes of color are light, vibrant and emotional. But few know the American woman artist Mary Cassatt. Is it because she was a woman and an American? Her beautiful art work has earned her a place in the pantheon of the great Impressionist artists. Cassatt was primarily concerned with the everyday scenes and people. Mary Cassatt was influenced by serene Japanese prints, and she was masterly with pastels, oils and printmaking techniques, used to produce beautifully refined works. She came from a wealthy family and was able to encourage her friends to support the Impressionist artists in her circle.
