f(x)=x^2-8 and g(x)=x-4

(fg)(3)

Am i doing this right?

((x^2)-8))(x-4)

=(x^3 -12+32)(3)

Answer=3x^3 -36+96

Thanks!

**bobpursley**, Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 5:08pmit depends on what you mean by (fg)(3)

What I think you are working with is a convolutions

f convolution g of 3 is

= (x-4)^2 - 8 when x=3) or

= 1-8 or -7
