how do i write the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line through the given points???

through (0,-1) and (-5,-3)??

  • math - ,

    First you find the slope
    m= -3-(-1)/-5-0 = 2/5
    then you substitute one point into the equation to find b
    y=mx+b
    -3= (2/5)(-5)+b
    -3+-2+b
    b= -1
    your answer is:
    y=(2/5)x-1
