Homework Help: Chemistry

I have a new column for HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) analysis.
Is it advisable to condition the new column with the mobile phase overnight at a slow flow rate of 0.5ml/min?

Frankly, I don't know if that is required; however, I think it's always wise to do so.
