A scale used for a model car is one inch for every 2.5 feet. If the car is originally 7.25 feet long, how long will the model car be?

Set up a proportion. Cross multiply and solve for x.

1 / 2.5 = x / 7.25

2.5x = 7.25
x = 7.25 / 2.5

x = ?
