i cant figure out how it got there

= (2+√5)/(2-√5) [(2+√5)/(2+√5)] , just multiplying by 1
= (4 + 2√5 + 2√5 + 5)/(4-5)
= (9 + 4√5)/-1
= -9 - 4√5
