Confused! Who were the presidents of the United States and of the Confederate States of America? My child has as an answer- The Union and the Confederacy each had a president. The president of the Union was Abraham Lincoln, while Jefferson Davis was the president of the Confederacy. Do you think this is the answer his teacher would want?

Who was president during the Civil War? If you were from a Northern state, you answered Abraham Lincoln. If you were from a Southern state, you may have answered Jefferson Davis.
