How do you get the answer to the fraction problem 9 2/3-3 5/6?

• Math - Ms. Sue, Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 10:45pm

9 2/3-3 5/6

9 2/3 = 9 4/6 = 8 10/6

8 10/6 - 3 5/6 = 5 5/6

1. turn them into improper fraction
9 2/3= 29/3
3 5/6= 23/6

2. convert each to the same denominator=
58/6-23/6

you should be able to figure it out from there then simplify if possible
