Homework Help: math

Max has 12 pairs of socks. Of them, 6 pairs are blue, 3 pairs are brown, and 2 pairs are white. Max wants to know what fraction of the socks are blue or brown. How can he find the numerator?

a) Add 6+3+2
b) Add 6+3
c) Subtract 11 from 12
d) Subtract 9 from 12
