phase 1
a = (5-0)/4.5 = 1.11 m/s^2
v = 0 + a t = 1.11*4.5 = 5 sure enough
d = 0 + 0 (4.5) + (1/2)(1.11)(4.5)^2 =11.2
then phase 2
a = 0
v = 5
d = 11.2 + 5 (4.5) + 0
= 11.2 + 22.5 = 33.7 meters
