A turtle is at the bottom of a 12 foot well. Each day it crawls up 3 feet, but each night it slips back 2 feet. After how many days will the turtle reach the top of the well?

During each 24-hour period it goes up 1 foot.

Day 1 = 11 feet to go
2 = 10
3 = 9
4 = 8
5 = 7
6 = 6
7 = 5
8 = 4
9 = 3

It climbs out on day 10.
