Find the intercepts of the graph of x^2 + y^2 + 4xy  2x + 7y = 8

precalculus Reiny, Monday, September 5, 2011 at 12:49pm
for xintercept , let y = 0
x^2 + 0 + 0  2x + 0 = 8
x^2  2x  8 = 0
(x4)(x+2) = 0
x = 4 or x = 2
so the xintercepts are (4,0), and (2,0)
for the yintercepts, let x = 0
0+y^2 + 0  0 + 7y =8
..
..
you finish it, let me know what you get.
