I want to know about the ROund off rule :

my quiz say Round you answer two decimal place.

second quiz show ,39.70 ..
Now further i need to round 2 decimal place .
plz
Thanks in advance .

Two decimal places is two numbers to the right of the decimal point. If the third number to the right of the decimal point is 5 or greater, round up. Otherwise just give the numbers, e.g., 28,61.

Thank you but what if number is 39.70

so we will drop the zero or not .

I'd keep the zero to show that you'd rounded to the nearest hundredth.

The round off rule is used to approximate a number to a specified number of decimal places. In your case, you are asked to round your answers to two decimal places.

To round a number to two decimal places, you need to look at the digit in the third decimal place. If this digit is 5 or greater, you increase the digit in the second decimal place by 1. If the digit in the third decimal place is 4 or less, you leave the digit in the second decimal place as it is.

Let's apply this rule to your examples:

1. For the number 28.6123, we need to round it to two decimal places. The digit in the third decimal place is 2, which is less than 5, so we leave the second decimal place digit (1) as it is. Therefore, the rounded answer is 28.61.

2. For the number 39.70, we also need to round it to two decimal places. The digit in the third decimal place is 0, which is less than 5, so we again leave the second decimal place digit (7) as it is. Therefore, the rounded answer is 39.70.

In summary, rounding a number to two decimal places involves examining the third decimal place digit and adjusting the second decimal place accordingly based on the value of this digit.
