Homework Help: Chemistry

Posted by Brittany on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 7:06pm.

Carbon-12 contains 6 protons and 6 neutrons. The radius of the nucleus is approximately 2.7 (femtometers) and the radius of the atom is approximately 70 (picometers).

The volume of the nucleus is 8.210^−8 pm^3
And the volume of the atom is 1.410^6 pm^3
I found the volumes but I also need to know what percent of the atom that the nucleus makes up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
