Have a 15 ml Hexane solution that needs to be placed in rotovap to evaportate Hexane. Hexane Solution temperature must be maintained at 22-25 F to prevent degradation of active. What should the pressure (mm Hg) be set at for this to occur?
1 answer
You need a vapor pressure curve for hexane versus T. Set pressure so vapor pressure at 22-25 C is equal to or greater than boiling point hexane.
