Explain some consequences of falling 'in love' with someone who acts in an improper manner.

I am rereading Emma, by Jane Austen. Austen had a lot to say on this subject, that of wrong matches, and improper manners and behaviour figured into that equation strongly.

Matches are often made in heaven, but bad behavior reflects something from lower than heaven, and the consequences are often tied to that extreme. Such as embarrassment, social ostracism, unruly children, and ill will. Improper behavior often reflects poor character, or impulsiveness, or just poor consideration of others.
