(b^4 - 16)/(b-2)
= (b^2 + 4)(b^2- 4)/(b-2) , difference of squares
= (b^2+4)(b+2)(b-2)/(b-2), difference of squares again on the second part of numerator
= (b^2 + 4)(b + 2)
