Homework Help: Social Psychology

“Self-concept differs from self-efficacy in that self-efficacy is a context-specific assessment of competence to perform a specific task […] A student may feel highly efficacious in mathematics but without the corresponding positive feelings in self-worth […]” (ibid, 561).

What does these symbols mean? […] Does something supposed to go between them? If so could you provide me with two examples because there are two of these brackets. A example for each bracket.
