Multiply both sides of the equation by x.
8 = 10x
8/10 = x
0.8 = x
what would it be if i had
8x = 10
Divide both sides of the equation by 8.
8x = 10
x = 10/8
x = 1 1/4 = 1.25
This may be easier to understand if you plug the values for x into the original equation.
8 * 1.25 = 10
You would divide both sides by eight to
isolate x. I will let you do that.
It ends up being a fraction, of course.
