What is the topic sentence in the following paragraph? I believe that paragraph one was a very effective paragraph. It touches a few very interesting points about why someone should create a Living Will. This is especially important to me because of the way that my family has handled our loved ones personal things after they have passed away. I personally think that the writer could have smoothed their sentences out more. In my opinion, this particular paragraph is a bit choppy and all over the place

I don't see a topic sentence. At first glance, it would appear that the first sentence is the topic sentence. However, the last two sentences negate the statement that the paragraph is "very effective."

Apparently you didn't read your assigned article. A living will has nothing to do with the disposal of goods after a person has died. A living will is used to inform family and medical personnel about a person's wishes prior to death.
