Could you please check these other sentences on the same theme? Thank you.
I tried to revise the punctuation myself.
1) A Jewish council was established to regulate the internal life of the ghetto.
2) Jews were regularly sent to either a concentration camp or a death camp.
3) Since when did Jews start to be transported to concentration camps systematically?
4) After Kristallnacht the number of Jews sent (could you say “deported”, “transported”?) to concentration camps increased.
5) Prisoners were forced to do hard physical labour, as well as to sleep on wooden bunks in groups of three (??). In addition, they were given tiny rations of food.
6) In some camps, doctors conducted medical experiments on prisoners against their will.
Is there any difference between a concentration and an extermination camp?
7) While concentration camps were meant to work and starve prisoners to death, extermination camps were built for the sole purpose of killing large groups of people quickly and efficiently.
8) The Nazis built six extermination camps. Prisoners sent to extermination camps were told to undress (in order) to take a shower. Rather than take a shower, prisoners were herded into gas chambers and killed.
9) Ausschwitz was the largest concentration and extermination camp (to be)built. It is estimated that 1.1 (one point one) million people were killed at Auschwitz.
