how did the BC gold rush aide in the development of britich columbia?

  • social studies - ,

The province is spelled British Columbia and both words are capitalized.

There is an brief article about the many gold rushes in that area between 1850 and 1900 at
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Columbia_gold_rushes

Obviously the gold discoveries led to increased population, especially around Victoria, the main Port of Entry to western Canadian coast at that time. It also led to the proclamation of the colony of British Columbia. There were also more frequent clashes with indigenous peoples.
